Redesigning a novel cover with two solutions: image based and typographic based. No stock imagery allowed, only unrelated found photography. The first iteration employs contrast
between chaotic marker lines and rigid typographic structure to reflect the targetted violence of American Psycho and the fractured, OCD-like psyche of Patrick Bateman. The second iteration relies on more covert symbolism, using various “sizing” stickers from a thrift store, where the sporadically arranged and highlighted numbers add up to Bateman’s kill count.
